This land has been
working for a long time.

The marsh at the tide line. The bog that holds the rain. The forest growing back after the cut.

For the first time, there is a way to recognize what these places do — and to ensure the people who care for them share in that.

How it works

Measure. Restore. Return.

You don't need to understand carbon markets or biodiversity credit methodologies. You need to understand what your land is worth and how to get paid for it. That's what we do.

01
Measure

We establish what your land is doing ecologically — carbon it's storing, biodiversity it's supporting, water it's filtering. Using satellite data, field assessment, and established scientific methodology, we build a baseline that makes your land's value visible and verifiable.

02
Restore

Where your land has been degraded — drained, clearcut, farmed to exhaustion — we design and implement restoration that increases its ecological value. Working with our scientific partners, we restore function, not just appearance.

03
Return

Verified ecological improvement generates income: biodiversity credits, blue carbon payments, conservation easements, ecosystem service agreements. We structure those payments to flow to you — while you keep your land, maintain your existing uses, and decide your own future. What the land gives, returned to the people who tend it.

Re-Peat

Peatland Restoration Carbon Credits

New Brunswick’s peat extraction industry has an obligation to restore post-extraction sites — and an extraordinary opportunity to generate carbon credits from that restoration work. Re-Peat is Natural Returns’ peatland carbon program, developing the MRV methodology, restoration delivery framework, and credit origination infrastructure for post-extraction peatland in Atlantic Canada and nationally.

Canada holds a quarter of the world’s peatland carbon. No commercial peatland restoration credit program exists in this country yet.

Status: Operator conversations underway. Methodology development in progress.

The Bay of Fundy Natural Capital Code

The Bay of Fundy is one of the most extraordinary places on earth for carbon storage. The world's highest tides have been driving carbon into these coastal marsh sediments for thousands of years — creating an ecological asset of remarkable depth and permanence.

Until now, accessing blue carbon credit markets has been prohibitively expensive for individual coastal landowners. The Bay of Fundy Natural Capital Code changes that.

Modelled on the UK Saltmarsh Code, the Bay of Fundy Natural Capital Code aggregates small landowners into a single verified program — so that a modest marsh parcel becomes viable for the first time. We administer the code. You receive annual payments from the ecological work your land has always been doing.

We are developing this code in collaboration with leading Atlantic Canadian coastal scientists and with Mi'kmaq and Wolastoqiyik Nations whose traditional territories these marshes sit within.

Who we work with

We work with anyone who owns land that nature is working hard on.

You don't have to be a conservation organization or an environmental activist. You just have to own land — and be open to understanding what it's actually worth.

Coastal Landowners

If you own salt marsh, tidal wetland, or coastal grassland on the Bay of Fundy or Northumberland Strait — even a few hectares — we want to talk to you. The Bay of Fundy Natural Capital Code is being designed specifically for landowners like you.

Farmers & Woodlot Owners

Marginal farmland, degraded riparian areas, clearcut woodlots — land that isn't generating income can generate biodiversity credits and ecosystem service payments. We assess, restore, and structure the returns while you keep farming what works.

Peat Operators & Municipalities

Post-extraction peatland and city-owned coastal land both have significant natural capital potential. We work with operators facing reclamation obligations and municipalities looking for innovative ways to generate conservation income from public land.

Some of the land we work with becomes something more. Ask us about Veil.

Let's start with your land.

Tell us what you own and where it is. We'll tell you honestly whether there's a natural capital opportunity worth exploring — and what it might be worth. Initial assessment at no charge.
